Four Step Detox

There’s always the time before vacation to get clean, fit and toned, but then after the slump comes. It happens to all of us. No matter where you go, you fall out of some sort of routine. Its inevitable and usually we start sliding down a slippery slope of NOT wanting to get back into a routine. These four easy steps will help you get back on track and ease back into reality.


1. SLEEP

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. Your body needs to recover (if you had a crazy vacation). You wont be able to function or do anything if your body and brain is tired. Mental and physical recovery is so so important for feeling good again and getting your body on the right track.

2. Workout daily

After all the drinks and food consumed on vacation, this is not easy but it’s super important to get your body back working and moving. Also, start to get all of the bad alcohol and food out of your system... Even if you aren’t in the mood, walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes and you will feel better and get your metabolism going again.

3. Detox your body

Drink lots of water, eat fruits and vegetables and try to be as clean as possible. No matter how miserable you might feel, your body will thank you for replenishing all the nutrients that you probably not been including in your diet. I know my entire vacation consisted of chips, guacamole and chicken nuggets. The second I got home I made a big hearty salad and the next morning a smoothie packed with fruits and healthy fats.

4. Take it easy

It is not practical to get back from vacation and go into the chaos of daily life. If possible, try to take naps and chill when possible.
